Mechanical design
-
Our solution makes use of the ship’s movement in seas and oceans by installing a small-scale U-tube floater to the ships.
-
Our floater is designed to freely move according to the wind and current directions to have the best orientation for trapping
plastic carried by the water.
-
Because currents don’t move exactly in wind
direction – due to Coriolis Effect- a vane will be placed
in water to be moved by the current and the orientation
of the floater will be adjusted mechanically by the vane
motion to ensure that water carries plastic to the inside of the U-tube floater.
-
At the U-tube center, a one-direction chamber is designed to swallow the trapped plastic into a net for storage by the current
